1100 Series
The JDS Uniphase 1100 Series of 980 nm pump
modules provides stable and high output power in
a coolerless design. It offers all of the well-known
benefits of 980 nm erbium doped fiber amplifier
(EDFA) pumping, including high efficiency and
low noise.
Compared to conventional thermoelectric cooled
pump modules, the 1100 Series significantly
reduces electrical power consumption and heat
dissipation - important advantages to systems
equipment providers.
The module is designed to work in amplifiers
located within Telcordia central office
environments. To allow for flexibility in EDFA
design, it operates at case temperatures of 0 to
75°C. High reliability is provided by the high
power JDS Uniphase laser chip, which is widely
used in terrestrial and undersea applications, and
also by the field proven 14-pin butterfly package.
Excellent wavelength stability, power in band, and
side-mode suppression ratio are achieved through
the use of fiber Bragg grating wavelength
stabilization.
The 1100 Series meets the requirements of
Telcordia
TM
GR-468-CORE.
