The performance of embedded systems in
markets such as Single Board Computers
(SBCs), thin clients, consumer electronics,
Point Of Sale (POS) and telecom, is limited by
IDE-based flash disks. A combination of higher
capacity, higher performance devices is needed
to support larger OSs, heavier GUI applications,
a wide variety of installed applications and
local data storage. uDiskOnChip (uDOC)
answers these needs by merging M-Systems’
expertise in three worlds: the USB 2.0 high-
speed interface, the DiskOnChip industry-
standard flash for embedded systems, and the
SuperMAP
cryptographic engine.
