This specification covers perform ance, test and quality requirem ents for NETCONNECT* toolless jacks.
These assem blies are designed for installation into various face plates, surface m ount boxes, panels,
and other sim ilar type fittings. They incorporate IDC term inals for term inating both shielded and
unshielded twisted pair com m unications cable. Toolless jacks will accom m odate 22 to 24 AW G solid
conductors and 24 AW G stranded conductors. The m axim um conductor insulation diam eter is 1.14 m m
[0.045 in].
1.2.
Qualification
W hen tests are perform ed on the subject product line, procedures specified in Figure 1 shall be used.
All inspections shall be perform ed using the applicable inspection plan and product drawing.
1.3.
Qualification Test Results
Successful qualification testing on the subject product line was com pleted in Feb00. Additional testing
using 24 AW G stranded conductors was com pleted in Aug01. The Qualification Test Report num ber for
this testing is 501-505. This docum entation is on file at and available from Engineering Practices and
Standards (EPS).

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
Qualification Testing
A.
Specim en Selection
Specim ens shall be prepared in accordance with applicable Instruction Sheets and shall be
selected at random from current production. All test groups shall each consist of a m inim um of 5
specim ens with 23 AW G wire. Five additional specim ens using 24 AW G stranded wire were
prepared for test group 7 testing.
B.
Test Sequence
Qualification inspection shall be verified by testing specim ens as specified in Figure 2.
4.2.
Requalification Testing
If changes significantly affecting form , fit or function are m ade to the product or m anufacturing process,
product assurance shall coordinate requalification testing, consisting of all or part of the original testing
sequence as determ ined by developm ent/product, quality and reliability engineering.
4.3.
Acceptance
Acceptance is based on verification that the product m eets the requirem ents of Figure 1. Failures
attributed to equipm ent, test setup or operator deficiencies shall not disqualify the product. If product
failure occurs, corrective action shall be taken and specim ens resubm itted for qualification. Testing to
confirm corrective action is required before resubm ittal.
4.4.
Quality Conform ance Inspection
The applicable quality inspection plan shall specify the sam pling acceptable quality level to be used.
Dim ensional and functional requirem ents shall be in accordance with the applicable product drawing
and this specification.
