Vandal Proof, Piezo Electronic and Electro-mechanical Pushbutton Switches
SchurterÕs vandal-proof and explosion-proof PSE switch series uses a switching element in which a
piezo disk is used as a sensor to transform mechanical force into an electrical voltage. Unlike mechanical
switching, piezo switches are fully electronic and do not break down over time.
Rated Lifetime:
>15-20 million operations. No external power is required. The release of the signal can result by use of
any object, conductive or not, on the actuator, i.e. finger, pencil, tool, etc. and will only react once the
specified amount of pressure is applied. ÒEXÓ version meets ignition protection requirements of EN
50020 for intrinsic safety. It is designed for use in potentially explosive environments (ib IIc T4).The
non-mechanical, contact free switching system eliminates the hazard of mechanical ignition.
