14 pin Butterfly Package
Description
The EM4 distributed feedback laser (DFB) is based on direct
modulation of the InGaAsP/InP multi-quantum well (MQW) laser
diode for data rate up to 2.5 Gb/s. The DFB is ideal for transmission
distances of up to 170km for both telecommunications and CATV
applications.
The DFB laser device is hermetically sealed into an industry standard
14 pin butterfly metal ceramic package. The butterfly package
features an InGaAsP/InP laser chip integrated with an internal optical
isolator, an InGaAs monitor photodiode and thermister for power and
temperature control respectively with an attached single mode fiber
pigtail. The fiber pigtail comes with a standard FC/APC optical
connector. Alternative optical connector options are also available.
