™
MT-RJ connector is a combination 2-fiber plug and jack connector and adapter. Although
the connector and adapter are essential, the UniCam QuickPress connector will allow the user to unplug the connector
from the adapter for ease of installation and re-install once the termination is complete. The UniCam QuickPress con-
nector also features the ability to reverse polarity. In other words, the user can switch the fibers between the A and B
position simply by rotating the connector.
Like the popular no epoxy/no polish UniCam connector, the UniCam QuickPress connector has a prepolished endface.
The two fiber stubs inside the connector are cleaved on one end and located inside the mechanical splice. The UniCam
QuickPress connector’s simple installation procedures can be compared to terminating audio speaker wire. Simply strip
and cleave the field fibers, depress the actuation button on the connector that opens the splice section, insert the fibers to
their fully seated positon, and release the button. The release of the button aligns and locks the fibers in place. No special
installation tools are required.
The UniCam QuickPress connector is designed to be fully compatible with the MT-RJ connector system. The UniCam
QuickPress MT-RJ connector accepts traditional tight buffered cables using 900 µm fibers.
