82389
Message Passing Coprocesssor
The MPC 82389 is a highly integrated VLSI device that maximizes the performance of a Multibus II
based multiprocessor system. It integrates the functions of bus arbitration, data transmit packetizing,
error handling and interrupt control. Because of these integrated functions, the host CPU can be
offloaded to utilize the maximum bus performance and subsequently increase the system throughput.
The MPC 82389 also supports geographic addressing by providing access to the local interconnect
registers for reference and control.
