Typical Application Diagrams
Filter Requirements
The VI-HAM requires an external filter to meet international standards for conducted EMI/RFI emissions.
Filter P/N VI-7818 incorporates transient protection and meets international
standards EN55022, VDE0878 and VFG243.
Connection Diagram, VI-HAM & Filter
Connection Diagram, VI-HAMD & BAMD
The VI-HAM must be used in conjunction with a hold up capacitor, Vicor dc/dc converters and a suitable line filter. The enable output
from the HAM must be connected to the Gate Input of all Driver modules. The HAM will then disable the module output until the
input exceeds 85 VAC. If an external load is connected directly to the HAM output, do not apply the load until the output of the HAM
is in boost mode.

VI-HAMD - x M Driver HAM (No Internal Bridge)
VI-BAMD - x M Booster HAM (No Internal Bridge)
Replace ‘x’ in part number with E, C, I & M dependent on
product grade required.
