CoEv Magnetics’ power magnetics portfolio includes custom
power transformers for high frequency switch mode power
supply applications as well as standard offerings for
configurable transformers, SMT power inductors, high
current inductors, drum core inductors and wire wound
inductors. These state of the art products are design to
support today’s higher power density and wider temperature
range requirements.

Broadband Magnetics
CoEv Magnetics offers a variety of standard package styles
and form factors to meet all of your xDSL needs. At CoEv
Magnetics our design engineers work directly with the
development teams at the IC Manufacturer to develop line
transformers and inductors to work for each specific
application. This focus enables CoEv Magnetics to offer
products designed for the most recent developments in
ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL and SHDSL.
Networking Magnetics Products
CoEv Magnetics offers a variety of Ethernet magnetics
products for 10/100/1000Bate-T, ATM and VoIP/Powered
Ethernet applications. Discrete and integrated devices are
available including LAN magnetics modules and RJ45
connectors with integrated magnetics.

CUSTOM POWER
CoEv Magnetics provides a wide variety of transformers for switch mode power supply applications. Products include a line of
off-the-shelf configurable transformers, custom designs based on industry standard packages and custom device designs.
This portfolio includes a selection of our most popular standard product offering. CoEv Magnetics also offers an extensive
selection of non-standard product and an infinite variety of custom product possibilities. CoEv Magnetics’ development
engineers are dedicated to helping you to make your most complex design requirements ready for tomorrow’s applications.
Custom SMPS Transformers
Transformers for SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) applications are supported using industry standard packages that can
be optimized for your specific needs. A sampling of standard geometries and their typical power handling capabilities are
shown in the graph on the following page.

Custom SMPS Magnetics
CoEv Magnetics offers a wide range of SMPS magnetics for all typical topologies
including Push-Pull, Forward Converter and Flyback. (The chart on the following
page gives approximate power handling capabilities in watts for the standard
package styles that CoEv Magnetics uses in customized SMPS Magnetics designs
to meet configuration and frequency requirements.) These package styles can be
used to create an infinite range of custom magnetics with variations for all

The chart above can be used to find a possible core for the design of a converter circuit. It is intended to be
helpful for the person who is just getting started with a design project when that person does not know where to
start. Not all factors could be taken into account for this chart. Your application may or may not work with a core
chosen by using this chart, but it is a good place to start.
Each wavy line represents the power conversion capability of one core type for different topologies and various
frequencies. If you know the power that your circuit must deliver, follow the gridline for that power to a point
where it crosses one of the wavy capability lines. At that frequency and topology that core can transform that
power (or less). All cores above that point will also handle that power, but they may be too big to be practical.
Note:
Use only the upward sloping parts of the dark lines. The downward sloping parts are simply to guide your
eyes to the next topology type for that core.
