Description
M/A-COM’s MATM-090010-UBXXXX is a 500mW
miniature, phase-locked, FM transmitter module.
The MATM-090010-UBXXXX is ideally suited for
rugged telemetry systems.
The MATM-090010-UBXXXX contains a shock hard-
ened crystal oscillator, a UHF transmitter chip, HBT
power amplifier, and microcontroller. The module
requires only a single supply voltage of +5.0V
DC
. The
MATM-090010-UBXXXX has a fully matched (50Ω)
output network. The operating frequency is factory
set on 10kHz steps.
M/A-COM's MATM-090010-UBXXXX has four
mounting holes allowing for easy integration into any
system. The MATM-090010-UBXXXX is fabricated
on standard FR-4 PC board material, employing
automatic assembly of surface mount components.
When fully encapsulated, this module has survived
high shock pulses up to 2,000G.
This product is 100% RF tested to ensure compli-
ance to performance specifications.
Other output powers, features, and form factors
are available upon request. Additional environ-
mental screening is also available.

Handling
Permanent damage to the MATM-090010-
UBXXXX may occur if the following precautions are
not adhered to:
A. Static Sensitivity – All die handling equipment
and personnel should comply with DOD-STD-
1686 Class I.
B. Transients – Avoid instruments and power
supply transients while bias is connected to the
MATM-090010-UBXXXX. Use shielded signal
and bias cables to minimize inductive pick-up.

Mounting
DO NOT expose the MATM-090010-UBXXXX to
temperatures greater than 180°C for more than 20
seconds. Higher temperatures may result in reflow
of the Sn63/Pb37 solder used for SMT component
attach.
It is recommended that the transmitter assembly be
mounted to a heatsink using the four plated mount-
ing holes on the perimeter of the module.

RF Connector
The RF connector is a standard-sized, through-
hole mounted SSMB connector. To allow user flexi-
bility, the RF connector can be provided with the
MATM-090010-UBXXXX unattached to the board.
The user may mount the connector on either the
component side or bottom side of board, as re-
quired.
