General Purpose Interface Bus assemblies feature double shielded cable, metal cast connector housing
and shield termination. Pre-loaded cantilever beam ensures low connector insertion force and minimum
contact wear. Interface meets IEEEÐ488 specifications.
Spacing:
0.85 inch. Connector has insulation
resistance of 10 G½ minimum, 1 A maximum current rating, and 1,000 cycles durability. Contact force
of 101, 5 N per contact, with 24 contacts per connector side. Housed in black glass-filled thermoplastic
polyester rated UL94V-0.
Contact:
Beryllium copper with 30 µ inch gold over nickel finish.
Shielded
Cover:
Zinc alloy with nickel finish. Black oxidized steel captive locking screw and metric thread. Double
shielded cable made of aluminum/mylar polyester film tape with braid and drain wire. Gray PVC
insulation.
Material Conductors:
AWG 26-7/34. Signal line resistance is 0.14 µ/m maximum, bulk
resistance braid is 0.0085 ½/m maximum.
Capacitance:
150 pF/m maximum at 1 kHz.
Impedance:
70-75 ½.
Operating Temperature:
80¡C maximum.

General Purpose Interface Bus Headers have 0.85 inch spacing. Connector has insulation resistance of
10 G½ minimum, contact resistance of 10 m½ maximum, withstanding voltage of 1000 VAC RMS, and
current rating of 1.5 A maximum. Contact force is 1-1, 5 N per contact and durability is 1000 cycles.
24 contacts. Housed in glass-filled thermoplastic polyester UL listed 94V-0, color black. Contact material
is beryllium copper, and finish is 30 µ inch gold over nickel in contact area and 100 µ inch tin-lead over
nickel on the soldertail. Shield and R/A bracket are low carbon steel with nickel finish. Threaded
clinching nuts are low carbon steel with cadmium and clear chromate.
Temperature Range:
Ð55¡C to
+105¡C.
