Fibre Optics
Recognising the demand for more and more fibre based systems, Oxley has
developed a range of interconnection devices over recent years to cover the
complexities of routing fibre optic cables within equipment cabinets.
The range includes multiway fibre-to-fibre and fibre-to-component
connectors to suit any number of possible configurations for use on
backplanes and bulkheads. Mating with the de facto industry standard
connectors such as SMA, ST and FC/PC connections with up to 4 (or greater
if required) LEDs, laser diodes, photodiodes or photoreceivers can be made
simultaneously. They tend to be best suited for use in test and
telecommunications equipment where it is either more practical or
aesthetically pleasing to route the fibre cabling behind the backplane thus
protecting against accidental damage often associated with front mounted
components.
Also in the range are standard metal bodied single way transmitter and
receiver modules for bulkhead and PCB mounting.
All Oxley fibre optic devices provide the lowest insertion loss in the highest
quality brackets and housing, bespoke solutions are our strength and our
customers find that Oxley devices make fibre optics easy.

Typical data at 25
°
C and Vee = 5.2 Vd.c.
Vout should be a.c. coupled to a 511 ohm load. Load capacitance must
not exceed 5 pF.
Measured with a 3 pole Bessel filter with a 25 MHz, -3 dB bandwidth.
Measured with a HP304C RMS Voltmeter.
Overdrive is defined at PWD = 2.5 ns.
Measured with a 10 ns pulse width, 50% duty cycle, at the 50%
amplitude point of the waveform.
Percent overshoot is defined as: (Vp - V100%) / V100% * 100%.
Output referred PSRR is defined as 20 log (V power supply ripple/
Vout ripple).
A 10 ohm resistor must be connected between Vee and the power
supply and a 0.1 microfarad bypass capacitor be connected between
the power supply and ground.
