Description
The HBCS25ZH is the industry's first high density isolated DC-DC converter that features integration of power
conversion with power management functions. In addition to 300W of tightly-regulated 12V output, the converter
offers an integrated four-channel sequencer, an intermediate bus voltage monitor and four enable outputs to
control point-of-load regulators that it powers. The HBCS25ZH converter is an ideal choice for building a complete
power system utilizing Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA).
The unit's open-frame, two-board construction provides ideal thermal transfer for maximum reliability. Power
devices are mounted on an Insulated Metal Substrate (IMS) base plate with very low thermal impedance. The
control PCB is physically isolated from the hotter IMS board, providing lower overall component temperatures for
high reliability.

If the converter is controlled by the ON/OFF signal,
there is no turn-on delay. The output voltage starts
rising immedialtely after the converter is enabled by
the ON/OFF signal.

The load is switched from 12.5A to 18.75 at di/dt=1A/µs. .
Cext=0uF. Channel 1 - output voltage, Channel 2 – output current.
When the input voltage reaches the turn-on threshold
of the input undervoltage protection circuit (indicated
by the left vertical bar), it triggers an internal timer.
The timer generates a delay of approximately 50ms.
The output voltage starts rising upon completion of
the delay, as indicated by the right vertical bar. The
delay allows the input voltage to stabilize before the
converter turns on, thus preventing the input voltage
sag and nuisance tripping of the UVLO protection of
the converter.
