1. INTRODUCTION
Extraction Tool 2161958-1 is designed to remove
contacts from EP 2.5 connector housings.
Read these instructions thoroughly before attempting
to remove any contacts.

2. DESCRIPTION
The tool features a handle marked with the part
number and a release tip. The tip is designed to fit into
the window of the housing and lift the locking tab to
clear the latch on the contact.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
It is recommended that each tool be inspected upon
arrival to be sure it has not been damaged in transit. It
should also be inspected at regularly scheduled intervals
to be sure it remains functional.
3.
USING
THE TOOL
1. Lightly pull back on the wire of the contact you
are extracting.
2. Insert the tip of the extraction tool into the window
as shown in Figure 2.
3. Pivot the tool clockwise and the tip will raise the
locking tab up, releasing the contact.
4. Then pull the wire out of the housing.
Be sure to keep the tool clean.
5. REVISION SUMMARY
Since the previous release, the proper use guidelines
(referring to power tools) were removed.
