Inline RS-232 function terminal block, for serial data transmission, without accessories, 1 serial input and output
channel in RS-232 design
Product Description
The IB IL RS-232 Inline function terminal allows almost every I/O device with a serial interface to operate on INTERBUS. Its integrated standard
interface (RS-232) design is freely configurable.
Data can be transmitted with special protocols or in transparent mode. This allows parameter sets or text strings to be exchanged, without problems,
through INTERBUS. The terminal is configured through INTERBUS.
The protocol types available for the user are:
- 3964R protocol
- Transparent protocol
- End-end protocol and
- Dual-buffer protocol
Parameters such as parity, data bits and stop bits can be set, as well as a transmission speed up to 19200 baud.
To avoid errors when exchanging data with the I/O device, handshaking is used as a procedure for the mutual signaling of "clear to receive" and "clear
to send". The handshake can be wired or programmed as hardware or software handshake. The terminal also has a large transmit and receive buffer
each with 4 kbyte in which data is stored temporarily.
The INTERBUS Inline function terminals can be labeled using hinged labeling fields. The fields have insert cards that can be labeled individually to suit
the application. Additionally, there is the ZB-FM-6... Zack strip for labeling the terminal points.
