The controller has additional features to interrupt the
host when a fault has occurred, provides a general-
purpose output to notify when output power is good,
detects insertion of a load card, and power-ups either
automatically upon insertion or waits for an I

mand to turn on. The MAX5967C is available in a
24-pin TQFN-EP package and is specified over the
0NC to +85NC temperature range.

The device features an adjustable foldback current limit
and a soft-start that sets the di/dt of the inrush current.

C interface configures the part to latch off or auto-
matically restarts after the MAX5967C detects a current-

The MAX5967C hot-swap controller allows a board to
be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane.
The device is pin compatible with the LTC4215. Using
an external n-channel pass transistor, the board supply
voltage and inrush current are ramped up at an adjust-
able rate. An I

C interface and on-board ADC allow for
monitoring of load current, voltage, and fault status.
